Anna is a lifelong learner committed to working towards a more liberated, post-capitalist future through her work at Obran Capital Advisors. As a Financial Advisor, she helps clients understand their current financial picture and the steps needed to achieve future financial goals in a values-aligned manner. She loves grappling with questions like: How much is enough? What do I get and give up by investing in Wall St.? How can I balance saving for retirement with redistribution? Anna’s circuitous path to becoming a financial advisor includes seven years as a high school history teacher. During that time, she was simultaneously exploring solidarity economy practices and principles through her volunteer organizing with Resource Generation, the Boston Ujima Project, and Rad Planners. When Anna left teaching, she decided to craft her day job around helping people (including herself!) navigate the obfuscated wealth protection industry in a more informed and empowered way. Most recently, Anna comes from Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, a sustainable investing firm in Boston, where she managed client portfolios by integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment strategies.
